Mentorship Success: AGMCP Graduation

A major highlight was the graduation of 20 mentees from the Africa Graduate Mentorship and Coaching Programme (AGMCP) on December 17, 2024. The program’s success was exemplified by outstanding achievements, including the Best AGMCP Mentee-Mentor Awards presented to:

  • Masters Category: Mary Wambui Muroki (Kenya) and Professor Adebisi Agboola
  • Doctoral Category: Omar Abdullahi Askalan (Somalia) and Dr. Paul Guthiga

Advancing Sustainability Through Knowledge Sharing

The quarter featured several high-impact webinars addressing crucial environmental and development topics:

  • Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) webinar in partnership with ACERPiN, featuring insights from Coca-Cola HBC’s “World Without Waste” initiative
  • “Sustainable Food Supply Chain: From Nursery Bed to Dining Table” session under the Africa Green Innovation School Programme (AGISP)
  • “Leveraging Kitchen Waste: The ‘Gold Mine’ in Every Household” workshop, highlighting practical approaches to household sustainability
  • “Indigenous Trees as Sources of Economic Opportunity & Climate Resilience” discussion, exploring the intersection of environmental conservation and economic development

Research and Publication Milestones

The organization’s commitment to academic excellence and knowledge dissemination continued with notable publications, including:

  • The comprehensive proceedings from the 5th Annual Circularity Africa Conference 2024
  • Important research on resilience measurements for food and nutrition security

Community Celebration

The year concluded with the Annual Thanksgiving Get-Together, bringing together team members, collaborators, and their families to celebrate the year’s achievements and plan for 2025.
