The 4th annual Circularity Africa Conference is organized to keep track of the progress towards the transformation of agriculture in Africa, monitor the achievements of the Africa Agenda 2063 as well as assess the progress of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal 12 which envisions sustainable management and efficient use of resources through reduction of food waste and food loss by 2030. The Conference will provide a robust platform for innovative solutions and optimization schemes that take advantage of the significant opportunities for food waste reduction reuse, and recycling at all levels of the food life cycle, as well as their scalability and commercial translatability. The conference will also address social, economic, and environmental challenges to reducing environmental footprint, and evolving the future of the social, market, and global megatrends in the applicability of circular economy concepts in food waste and food loss.

Abstract (200 to 300 words in length) should draw on empirical research with clear implications for policy design and implementation relating to the Sustainable Management of Food Waste and Food Loss in Africa. Selected papers will be processed for publication as Special Issues in Resources, Environment, and Sustainability; Business Strategy and Development; and Cleaner Production Letters.
